Key Stage 3

Students are taught in streamed sets and are timetabled for one lesson of Drama a week for two terms a year.

Key Stage 4

At the end of Year 9, students can opt for Drama at GCSE. Students are timetabled for four lessons a week in Year 10 and Year 11.

At Key Stage 4, students must commit to extra rehearsal times at break, lunchtime and after school in order to fully prepare their projects.

BTEC Performing Arts is also offered at Key Stage 4 exploring a variety of roles for individuals within the performing arts, from singing, acting, dancing and composing to backstage support functions.

BTEC is a vocational course that provides students with a practical approach to the subject.

Key Stage 5

Students can opt for Drama and Theatre Studies at AS and A2 Level. Students are timetabled for six lessons a week in Year 12 and year 13. Students will be expected to visit the theatre regularly and commit to extra rehearsal times at break, lunchtime and after school in order to fully prepare their projects.

Our mission within Drama is to ensure all students reach their potential in which ever route they choose to take which is clearly reflected within our results. Our main aim is that students gain interpersonal and transferrable skills that can be used in both their personal and work life.
